Discover the Musée de la Vie Romantique, which has just reopened, through the life and work of the women artists who once frequented this place. The Musée de la Vie Romantique opens its doors once again, after 17 months of renovation work. The house has regained its 1830 appearance, restoring to the site all the elegance of its original state. Inside, the scenography faithfully recreates the atmosphere of a 19th-century artist's residence. It is in this hushed atmosphere that we will encounter the novelist George Sand, the opera singers Pauline Viardot and her sister Maria Malibran, the sculptor princess Marie d’Orléans, or the actress Mademoiselle Rachel. All of them were admired and honored by their contemporaries. We will explore the life and work of women artists in a place frequented by the great figures of Romanticism.
